Cultural and creative industries in Singapore: possibilities and threats

Abstract:

Cílem práce je analyzovat, zda přístup, který Singapur zvolil k rozvoji kulturních a kreativních průmyslů, je úspěšný a vykazuje pozitivní výsledky. Úvodní teoretická část je věnovaná obecné charakteristice Singapuru a vymezení pojmu kulturních a kreativních průmyslů, jejich vývoje a různých národních pojetí. Praktická část práce pomocí analýzy hodnotí prostředí, ve kterém se kulturní a kreativní průmysly v Singapuru rozvíjejí, a dopad, který na ně toto prostředí má. V závěrečné kapitole je vyhodnoceno, nakolik je singapurský přístup tomuto sektoru prospěšný a zda se o Singapuru dá mluvit jako o globálním městě kultury.

Abstract:

The aim of the paper is to analyze whether Singapore's approach to the development of cultural and creative industries is successful and shows positive results. The introductory theoretical part is devoted to the general characteristics of Singapore and the definition of the concepts of cultural and creative industries, their development and different national concepts in the works of different authors. The practical part of the thesis analyzes the environment in which the cultural and creative industries in Singapore are developing and the impact of the environment in which they are developing. The final chapter assesses the extent to which the Singaporean approach to this sector is beneficial and whether Singapore can be considered to be a global city of culture.
