Sustainable tourism in selected region of Slovakia

Abstract:

Tourism is today the fastest growing sector with great potential for further growth. For regions that have something to offer in the field of tourism, tourism development is a great opportunity, especially for those affected by the decline of some sectors or high unemployment. This work analyzes the issues of individual impacts of tourism, especially at the local and regional level. There are described the factors and impacts of tourism that positively or negatively affect not only the regional economy but also the social, ecological sphere. The aim of the thesis is to analyze both the positive and negative impacts of tourism on tourism from a geographic or regional point of view. The theoretical part of the diploma thesis is mainly based on working with literature on tourism. Information has also been selected to brief the reader on the issue of tourism and explains a few basic technical terms in this area. This part of the thesis is intended to introduce the reader into a practical part, and it is therefore important that they logically follow and merge. It could be said that the descriptive method in the theoretical part of the thesis creates a reflection bridge for the analytical method in the practical part. In the practical part of the thesis an analysis of the specific situation is under way. Of course, literature is used here, especially in the form of expert papers on region of Banská Bystrica, resp. Region, statistical indicators and tourist guides. The very main goal of the work, suggesting possible forms of development of the region Banská Bystrica by tourism, is based primarily on a self-conducted SWOT analysis of the current state.

Abstract:

Cestovný ruch je dnes najrýchlejšie sa rozvíjajúce odvetvie s veľkým potenciálom ďalšieho rastu. Pre regióny, ktoré majú v oblasti turizmu čo ponúknuť, znamená rozvoj cestovného ruchu veľkú príležitosť, najmä pre tie, ktoré sú postihnuté útlmom niektorých odvetví alebo vysokou nezamestnanosťou. Táto práca analyzuje problematiku jednotlivých vplyvov cestovného ruchu najmä na úrovni miestnej a regionálnej. Sú tu popísané činitele a vplyvy cestovného ruchu, ktoré pozitívne alebo negatívne ovplyvňujú nielen regionálnu ekonomiku, ale aj oblasť sociálnu, ekologickú. Cieľom práce je analyzovať ako pozitívne, tak aj negatívne dopady cestovného ruchu na cestovný ruch z hľadiska geografického alebo regionálneho. Teoretická časť diplomovej práce sa opiera hlavne o prácu s odbornou literatúrou z oblasti cestovného ruchu. Boli vybrané také informácie, ktoré čitateľa stručne zasvätia do problematiky cestovného ruchu a vysvetlí pár základných odborných termínov z tejto oblasti. Táto časť práce má uviesť čitateľa do časti praktickej, a je preto dôležité, aby na seba logicky nadväzovali a spájali sa. Dalo by sa povedať, že deskriptívna metóda v teoretickej časti práce vytvára odrazový most pre metódu analytickú v časti praktickej. V praktickej časti práce už prebieha analýza konkrétnej situácie. Samozrejme aj tu je používaná literatúra a to predovšetkým vo forme odborných dokumentov o Banskobystrickom kraji, resp. danom regióne, štatistických ukazovateľov a turistických sprievodcov. Samotný hlavný cieľ práce, navrhnutie možných foriem rozvoja Banskobystrického kraja cestovným ruchom, vychádza potom predovšetkým zo samostatne vykonanej SWOT analýzy o súčasnom stave.
