Children and adolescents as clients of social services and their view on social work and the work of a social worker

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou participace dětí a mládeže jako klientů sociální práce, konkrétně jejich pohledem na sociální práci, která se jich bezprostředně týká, tedy na tu, které jsou součástí. V teoretické části práce seznamuje čtenáře s tématy vztahujícími se ke zvolené problematice, jedná se především o sociální práci s rodinou a teoretická východiska participace. Práce také v této části předkládá pohled na současný stav této problematiky v České republice. Druhá část práce prezentuje analýzu výsledků získaných prostřednictvím polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s deseti dětmi, jejichž rodiny jsou klienty sociálně-aktivizační služby ve městě Ústí nad Labem. Z těchto rozhovorů vzešlo například jak děti a mladiství vnímají práci sociálního pracovníka v jejich rodinách, jak mohou participovat na procesu spolupráce, jaké jsou limity tohoto procesu, jaké jsou možnosti jejich zapojení do nástroje sanace rodiny, jak vnímají dopady této spolupráce atd. Výsledkem práce je komplexní doporučení a návrh pro pracovníky sociálních služeb, jejichž cílovou skupinou jsou rodiny, děti a mladiství, a orgánů sociálně-právní ochrany dětí, jak například zefektivnit práci s touto cílovou skupinou a jak modifikovat spolupráci s cílem zlepšení vzájemného vztahu.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis pursues the problematics of children and youth participation as clients of social work, specifically their view of the social work which affects them directly, meaning the one they are a part of. In the theoretical part the thesis introduces the readers to the topics related to chosen problematics, namely the social work with a family and theoretical outcomes of a participation. In this part the thesis also provides a view into the current situation of this problematics in Czech Republic. The second part of the thesis presents an analysis of the results obtained by half-structuralised interviews with ten children, whose families are clients of social-acquisition service in the city of Ústí nad Labem. From these interviews the outcome was for example how children and youth perceive the work of a social worker in their families, how they can participate in the process of cooperation, what are their opportunities to involve in the family sanitation, how they perceive impacts of this cooperation etc. The result is a complex recommendation and proposal for social workers, whose focus group are families, children and youth, and for agencies for social-legal children protection, how for example make a work with this focus group more efficient and how to modify the cooperation with aim to improve the mutual relationship.
