Perspectives of commodity markets

Abstract:

The subject of the submitted diploma thesis ,,Perspectives of commodity markets” is to analyze the commodity markets in real economy and than compare their relationship to the stock markets. At firs, we discuss the processing issues in commodity markets in domestic and foreign literature. We will characterize the investment instruments, which include commodities such as crude oil, gold and coffee and we will compare their relationship to the stock index S & P 500. Commodities represent the underlying assets and are traded on the exchange and OTC markets. In the last part of diploma thesis, we will examine the use of technical analysis with regard to the prediction of future developments.

Abstract:

Predmetom diplomovej práce ,,Komoditné trhy a ich perspektívy“ je analyzovať postavenie komoditných trhov v reálnej ekonomike a následne porovnať ich vzťah k akciovým trhom. Najskôr si rozoberieme spracovanie problematiky komoditných trhov v domácej a zahraničnej literatúre. Charakterizujeme si investičné nástroje, ktorých súčasťou sú komodity ako ropa, zlato a káva a porovnáme ich vzťah k akciovému indexu S&P 500. Komodity tvoria podkladové aktívum a sú obchodované na burzových a mimoburzových trhoch. V poslednej časti diplomovej práce budeme skúmať využitie technickej analýzy so zreteľom na predikciu budúceho vývoja.
