Natural Horsemanship as a lifestyle in young adulthood

Abstract:

Diplomová práce „Natural Horsemanship jako životní styl v mladší dospělosti“ se zabývá přirozenou komunikací nebo partnerstvím s koňmi jako moderní volnočasovou aktivitou proměňující se u některých mladých dospělých v osobitý životní styl. Teoretická část mapuje období mladší dospělosti, pojednává o životním stylu dnešních mladých dospělých a jeho aspektech, přičemž se zaměřuje také na důležitý určující prvek - volný čas. Dále přináší jedny z prvních ucelených informací v českém jazyce o fenoménu Natural Horsemanship a tyto dává do souvislosti s životním stylem mladých horsemanů. Empirickou část provází kvalitativní výzkumné paradigma. K analýze získaných dat z polostrukturovaných rozhovorů je použita metoda zakotvené teorie. Respondenti výzkumného šetření jsou horsemani ve věku 20 - 30 let, kteří se v prostředí okolo koní pohybují od dětství a aktuálně žijí podle filosofie Natural Horsemanship. Cílem práce je zjistit, co horsemany k této aktivitě v minulosti přitáhlo, co je motivuje a naplňuje dnes, zda nějak Natural Horsemanship ovlivňuje osobnost člověka a v jakém směru, a v neposlední řadě práce zjišťuje, jak se Natural Horsemanship projevuje mj. v životním stylu a jak tento specifický životní styl případně může ovlivňovat prokreační rodinu horsemana.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis „Natural Horsemanship as a lifestyle in young adulthood“ deals with natural communication or partnership with horses as a modern leisure time activity which changes into distinctive lifestyle of some young adults. Theoretical part deals with the period of young adulthood, describes the lifestyle of contemporary young adults and its aspects, and also focuses on another important determining factor - leisure time. Moreover it provides one of the first integrated information about the phenomenon of Natural Horsemanship in Czech language and this puts into context with the lifestyle of young horsemen. The empirical part is based on the qualitative research paradigm. A method of Grounded Theory is used to analyse the data obtained from semistructured interviews. Respondents in the research are horsemen at the age of 20 to 30 years, who have been in the ambience around horses since their childhood and at present they live according to the philosophy of Natural Horsemanship. The objective of this thesis is to find out, what attracted horsemen to this activity in the past, what motivates them and fills them up nowadays, whether Natural Horsemanship affects the personality of a human somehow and in which way, and last but not least the thesis detects, in which way Natural Horsemanship manifests among other things in lifestyle and how this specific lifestyle can affect procreative family of a horseman.
