Impact of current financial crisis on banks in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

V práci se snažím přiblížit dopady současné finanční krize na banky v České Republice. V prvních dvou kapitolách charakterizuji druhy bankovních systémů a popisuji funkce České Národní Banky a bank. Dále se zabývám počátkem finanční krize v USA, jeho celosvětovým dopadem, srovnáním vybraných ukazatelů z České Republiky, USA a eurozóny a také zátěžovými testy bank. V praktické části se zaměřuji na konkrétní dopady na Českou republiku. Na snižování sazby ČNB, mezibankovní trh, trh s vládními dluhopisy a kurz koruny. Na finanční instituce – ČMZRB, ČEB a EGAP, které se snaží pomoci při získání úvěru podnikům. Dále trhem úvěrů a jeho situací před krizí a v době krize.

Abstract:

I discuss the impact of current financial crisis o banks in the Czech Republic. In the first two chaps I describe the function of the Czech National Bank and other banks. I study the beginning of the financial crisis in USA, its impact on the world economy, I compare selected macroeconomics indicators of the Czech Republic, the European Union and USA and I examine stress-tests. I analyze concrete impacts of financial crisis. I describe reduction of the Czech National Bank interest rate, the changes on the interbank market, the market with government bonds and fluctuations of the exchange rate of Czech crown. I focus on financial institution such as the ČMZRB, ČEB, EGAP, which try to help firms to get loans. I investigate the loan market and the situation before and during the crisis.
