Abstract:

A status of the Slovak National Bank after joining the EMU The objectives of my diploma thesis was to describe and analyse the emplacement of Slovak National Bank, its functions and tools before and after entering of Slovakia the European Monetary Union. The work Is divided ihto four chapters and it deals mostly wirt such subjects as NBS and ECB monetary policy. Particelar attention is given to the mission of NBS before and after entering of Slovakia the EMU. The first chapter deals with the history of central banking system, the mission of NBS before and after entering of Slovakia the EMU. The first chapter deals with the history of central banking system, the origin and function of central bank in general and in addition the chapter shows a brief outlook on the history of slovak central banking. The second chapter attends the monetary policy, the mechanisms of its operating and the regularization of NBS until December 31 2008. This chapter also deals with the tools of NBS monetary policy and their exercitation before enterng of the Slovak republic the EMU. The next chapter concerncs international monetary systems in Europe after the World War II, European Monetary Union, its development stages and Slovakia s internation into EMU itself. The last chapter presents some problems of executing the common monetary policy of ECB, its tools, and aldo the tasks of NBS after Slovakia s entering the Eurozone.

Abstract:

Cieľom diplomovej práce bolo popísať a zanalyzovať postavenie Národnej banky Slovenska, jej funkcie a nástroje pred a po vstupe Slovenska do Európskej menovej únie. Práca je rozdelená do štyroch kapitol. Zaoberá sa hlavne problematikou menovej politiky NBS i ECB. Pozornosť je zvlášť venovaná úlohám NBS pred vstupom a po vstupe Slovenska do EMU. Prvá kapitola sa zaoberá históriou centrálneho bankovníctva, vznikom a funkciami centrálnej banky všeobecne a podáva stručný prehľad histórie centrálneho bankovníctva na území Slovenska. Druhá kapitola je venovaná vysvetleniu monetárnej politiky, mechanizmov jej uskutočňovania, zákonnej úprave Národnej banky Slovenska do 31. 12. 2008. Ďalej je venovaná nástrojom menovej politiky NBS a ich uplatňovaniu pred vstupom Slovenskej republiky do EMU. Nasledujúca kapitola sa zaoberá medzinárodnými menovými systémami v Európe po 2. svetovej vojne, Európskou menovou úniou, jej vývojovými etapami a samotnou integráciou Slovenska do EMU. Posledná kapitola je venovaná problematike vykonávania spoločnej menovej politiky ECB a jej nástrojom, úlohám NBS po vstupe SR do eurozóny.
