The Use of Drama in First Aid Teaching

Abstract:

Tématem bakalářské práce je využití dramatické tvorby při výuce první pomoci. Teoretická část práce je zaměřena na objasnění pojmů dramatická výchova a první pomoc, především na jejich historii, vývoj, metodu výuky a společné využití v praxi. Praktická část práce je zaměřena na kvantitativní průzkum provedený prostřednictvím dotazníkového šetření. Cílem práce bylo zjistit, jaké jsou počáteční znalosti první pomoci u konkrétní skupiny respondentů, jež byla tvořena žáky sedmých ročníků základních škol. Dalším cílem práce bylo zjistit, která z metod výuky první pomoci, bude dle následných znalostí žáků efektivnější. Porovnávali jsme metodu s využitím výukových videí dle dramatických scénářů s metodou s využitím tradičního školení. Pro tyto účely byla natočena vlastní výuková videa dle vlastních dramatických scénářů. Na základě odpovědí od 103 respondentů bylo zjištěno, že vyšší úspěšnost dle správných odpovědí vykazovali respondenti, kteří absolvovali výuku první pomoci s využitím výukových videí dle dramatických scénářů. Po analýze dat z průzkumu byla v rámci bakalářské práce poskytnuta doporučení pro praxi, týkající se možného zařazení prvků dramatu a interaktivního přístupu do běžné formy výuky první pomoci.

Abstract:

The topic of the bachelor thesis is the exploration of the art of drama in the context of first aid education. The theoretical section delves into the definitions of drama education and first aid, specifically their historical evolution, pedagogical methodologies, and their synergistic application in practice. This part aims to shed light on the intricate relationship between dramatic arts and the effective teaching of first aid, emphasizing the art of drama as a vital component in educational strategies. The empirical section of the thesis is devoted to a quantitative survey conducted via questionnaire to assess the initial first aid knowledge among a targeted group of respondents, namely seventh-grade students from elementary schools. Furthermore, the thesis sets out to determine which educational approach to first aid is more effective based on the students' post-instruction knowledge. This involves a comparative analysis between the use of educational videos crafted from dramatic scripts, representative of the art of drama, and traditional teaching methods. Original educational videos were produced based on bespoke dramatic scripts for this purpose. Analysis of data from 103 participants revealed that students exposed to first aid training through educational videos incorporating elements of drama demonstrated a higher rate of correct responses. The findings prompted the thesis to offer recommendations for incorporating drama and interactive methods into conventional first aid training, underscoring the significance of the art of drama in enhancing educational outcomes.
