Melnik Architecture in the interwar period, focusing on the typology of buildings

Abstract:

Tato práce si stanovuje za cíl popsat architektonický vývoj města Mělníka v meziválečném období, určení charakteristických znaků, typických projevů v tvorbě jednotlivých architektů a vytvoření typologie staveb. Ve dvacátých a třicátých letech bylo v Mělníku postaveno několik budov s avantgardním tvaroslovím, které se zachovaly dodnes v městské zástavbě. Tato problematika není zatím blíže probádána. Existují pouze starší průvodci z druhé poloviny 30. let, které se však nově vzniklé architektuře nevěnují. Mladší tituly zůstávají na úrovni popisné literatury se zaměřením na starší ikonografii bez hlubšího zhodnocení a zobecnění závěrů. To je také jedním z důvodů, proč se tímto tématem budu zabývat.

Abstract:

This work sets out to describe the architectural development of the town of Melnik in the interwar period, the determination of the characteristics of typical manifestations in the work of architects and a building typology. In the twenties and thirties were in Melnik built several buildings with avant-garde morphology, which have been preserved to this day in urban areas. This issue is further explored yet. There are only older guides from the second half of the 30th years, although the newly formed architecture do not pay. Younger titles remain at the level of descriptive literature with a focus on older iconography without a deeper appreciation and generalization of conclusions. It is also one of the reasons why this topic I will discuss.
