Design of a permanent magnet synchronous machine

Abstract:

Předloţená diplomová práce se zabývá návrhem synchronního motoru s permanentními magnety ze vzácných zemin. Jsou zde popsány základní vlastnosti synchronních strojů, dále pak jejich rozdělení. Následující kapitola se zabývá jednotlivými druhy permanentních magnetů, které se pouţívaly dříve a které mají uplatnění do budoucna. Jsou zde uvedeny jejich výhody, nevýhody a moţnosti vyuţití v praxi. Práce také obsahuje, dle zadání, vypočítaný synchronní motor s pouţitými neodymovými magnety. Výsledkem tohoto výpočtu je momentová charakteristika synchronního motoru, která je počítána analyticky. Poslední část obsahuje simulaci navrţeného stroje pomocí metody konečných prvků (FEMM). Tato metoda vychází z předešlého výpočtu. Základem je přesný 2D model, vytvořený v programu FEMM, ve kterém jsou jednotlivým částem přiřazeny reálné vlastnosti. Pomocí metody konečných prvků a za pouţití programu FEMM, lze získat momentovou charakteristiku. Závěrem této práce je vyhodnocení momentových charakteristik získaných z návrhu a následně ze simulace v programu FEMM.

Abstract:

This master thesis deals with the synchronous motor with rare-earth permanent magnets. The basic properties of the synchronous machines are described in the first chapter and a division of synchronous machines is described further. The following chapter deals with particular types of permanent magnets, which were used in the past and which will be used in future. In addition, these advantages, disadvantages and an usage of motors are mentioned in practice. Furthermore a calculation of synchronous motor with permanent magnets is obtained. The result of this calculation is the torque characteristic of the synchronous motor, which was calculated analytically. The last part of this thesis deals with modelling of the designed machine using Finite Element Method Magnetics (FEMM). This method results from the last calculation. The base forms an accurate 2D model, which was created in software FEMM. Real properties have been assigned to particular parts of the machine. The second torque characteristic was obtained from the software FEMM. In conclusion of this thesis is an evaluation of the torque characteristics, which were gained from the calculation and the simulation using Finite Element Method Magnetics.
