Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá vztahem George Eliot a jejích fiktivních ženských postav skrze analýzu jejího románu, Middlemarch, která je specificky zaměřena na jednu z hlavních postav, Rosamond Vincy. Rosamond je ztělesněním viktoriánského standardu femininity, známý pod názvem "angel in the house" (anděl v domě). Abstract:
The thesis examines the relationship between George Eliot and her fictional female characters by focusing on the novel Middlemarch and most precisely on one of the female protagonists, Rosamond Vincy. She is a prime example of the Victorian standard of femininity, the angel in the house.
