Application of graphic design principles to the creation of packaging design of wine labels

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá tématem obalového designu, konkrétně pak obalovým designem v segmentu vína. Záměrem teoretické části práce je vytvořit rešerši možností obalového designu se zaměřením na obalový design vína, která bude sloužit jako zdroj informací a také inspirace pro praktickou část. Krom základních informací, jako jsou role a funkce obalového designu nebo jeho grafické prvky, práce rozebírá i přímo proces tvorby designu a nabízí detailnější přehled možností obalového designu vína z hlediska typů obalů, materiálů, zušlechtění tiskovin (etiket) či přímo právních náležitostí obalu. V praktické části je demonstrován proces tvorby návrhu obalového designu vína na konkrétní zakázce od klienta. Cílem bakalářské práce je seznámit čtenáře s procesem tvorby návrhu obalového designu, popsat jeho náležitosti a prvky, stejně jako možné druhy obalů, jejich materiály a využití dokončovacích prací k zušlechtění etiket. Výsledná práce dává podněty vedoucí k vytvoření funkčního a vizuálně atraktivního návrhu obalového designu pro koncového spotřebitele.

Abstract:

Bachelor thesis focuses on the topic of packaging design, specifically packaging design in the wine segment. The aim of the theoretical part is to analyze options of packaging design focusing on packaging design of wine. The analysis will serve as a source of information and inspiration for the practical part of bachelor thesis. Apart from the basics, such as are the roles and functions of packaging design or its graphic elements, the work will also discuss the design process and offer a more detailed overview of packaging options, such as types of packaging, the materials, different printing finishes or the legal requirements of packaging. The practical part demonstrates the process of creating a wine packaging design on a specific assignment from a real client.The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to familiarize the reader with the process of creating a packaging design, describe its essentials and elements, as well as possible types of packaging, their materials and the use of different finishes to refine printed labels. Thesis provides stimuli leading to the creation of a fully functional and visually attractive packaging design for the end consumer.
