Use of information and communication technologies in homes for the elderly

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá dostupností a využitím informačních a komunikačních technologií v domovech pro seniory. Přibližuje, co vlastně jsou informační a komunikační technologie, co co si představit pod pojmem kvalita života a jak se hodnotí kvalita života podle standardů kvality sociálních služeb. Popisuje využití informačních a komunikačních technologií pro zvýšení kvality života u vybrané cílové skupiny, včetně vysvětlení konkrétních výhod a nevýhod používání informačních a komunikačních technologií touto vybranou skupinou. Práce také seznámí s kvalitou života seniorů a obecným náhledem na přípravu na stáří, koncept aktivního stáří a identifikaci faktorů ovlivňující kvalitu života seniorů. Diplomová práce také přiblíží životní podmínky seniorů v České republice, ve vybraných zemích Evropské unie a tyto podmínky porovnává. Aplikační část práce se zaměří na hlubší názory a postoje seniorů ve vazbě na využívání digitálních technologií. Závěr diplomové práce dle zvolených kritérií poskytne odborné i laické veřejnosti popis dané problematiky.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the availability and use of information and communication technologies in homes for the elderly. It describes what information and communication technologies are, what to imagine under the term quality of life and how the quality of life is assessed according to the quality standards of social services. It describes the use of information and communication technologies to increase the quality of life of a selected target group, including an explanation of the specific advantages and disadvantages of using information and communication technologies by this selected group. The thesis also introduces the quality of life of seniors and a general view of preparation for old age, the concept of active old age and the identification of factors influencing the quality of life of seniors. The diploma thesis also introduces the living conditions of seniors in the Czech Republic, in selected countries of the European Union and compares these conditions. The application part of the work will focus on deeper opinions and attitudes of seniors in relation to the use of digital technologies. The conclusion of the diploma thesis according to the selected criteria will provide the professional and lay public with a description of the issue.
