The threat of social engineering in banking sector

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the threat of social engineering in the banking sector. The main aim of our bachelor thesis is the survey of different types of social engineering methods, which can be used in an attack. We are also interested in the examples of potential hacking attacks of social engineers and we have focussed on the scenario of particular attack on the bank institution in the form of social engineering. According to the analysed results,we could state that any system is vulnerable to direct or indirect attacks.

Abstract:

Bakalárska práca sa zaoberá hrozbou sociálneho inžinierstva v bankovom sektore. Rozoberá jednotlivé druhy sociálneho inžinierstva, ktoré môžu byť použité pri útokoch, zaoberá sa príkladmi možných útokov sociálnych inžinierov a opisuje scenár útoku na bankovú inštitúciu formou sociálneho inžinierstva. Výsledkom práce je poukázanie na zraniteľnosť akéhokoľvek systému s použitím priameho, alebo nepriameho útoku.
