Post-war reconstruction in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Abstract:

Daytonskou mírovou smlouvou z prosince roku 1995 byl deklarován suverénní stát Bosny a Hercegoviny jako stát založený na rovnosti Bosňáků, Chorvatů a Srbů, a všech menšin. Tato práce se zabývá procesem poválečné obnovy v Bosně a Hercegovině. Jejím cílem je popsat a analyzovat postup poválečné obnovy bosenské společnosti. Práce se nejprve zabývá teorií poválečné obnovy a jejími kategoriemi podle díla O. Ramsbothama a kolektivu, na něž se následně pokouší aplikovat realitu bosenské společnosti v době současné a nedávno minulé. Stěžejní část práce pak tvoří samotná analýza stavu současné bosenské společnosti a procesu, který k němu vedl od konce roku 1995. Tato část se zabývá faktory, jejichž reformu teorie poválečné obnovy považuje za nezbytnou pro dosažení uznání země jako demokratického, politicky, ekonomicky a sociálně nezávislého státu na pomoci zvenčí. V závěrečné části se autorka pokouší určit, v které fázi procesu poválečné obnovy se společnost v Bosně a Hercegovině nachází.

Abstract:

The sovereign state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a country based on the equality of Bosniaks, Croats and Serbs and all other minorities, was declared by Dayton Peace Treatment signed in December 1995. This thesis is devoted to the process of post-war reconstruction in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Its purpose is to describe and to analyze the process of post-war reconstruction of the bosnian society. The thesis is concentrated to the theory of post-war reconstruction and its cathegories according to a book by O. Ramsbotham and cooperating authors first, then tries to apply the reality of recent bosnian society to those cathegories. The main part of the thesis consists of the analysis of the condition of recent bosnian society itself and of the process that led to it since the end of 1995. This part is focused on the factors the reform of those is, according to the conclusion of the theory of post-war reconstruction used, necessary for Bosnia to achieve its recognition as a democratic, politicaly, economicaly and socialy on the international help independent, state. In the last part, the author tries to define, which fase of post-war reconstruction is currently being processed in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
