The issue of environmental migration in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Téma bakalářské práce je Problematika environmentální migrace v České republice. Cílem této práce bylo zjistit, jaký pohled mají pracovníci pracující s cizinci na problematiku environmentální migrace v ČR a na připravenost ČR přijmout větší počet environmentálních uprchlíků na její území a poskytnout jim ochranu. V teoretické části práce jsou vymezeny pojmy environmentální migrace, prevence katastrof, humanitární a rozvojová pomoc jako možnost prevence tohoto jevu. Dále jsou zde obecně popsány služby poskytované uprchlíkům. Součástí práce je kvalitativní výzkum, který byl proveden technikou polostrukturovaných rozhovorů. Na interpretaci a analýzu získaných dat se zaměřuje empirická část. V závěru je zodpovězena hlavní výzkumná otázka a jsou zde shrnuty výsledky. Rozsah základního textu je 10 355 slov.

Abstract:

The name of this bachelor thesis is "The issue of environmental migration in the Czech Republic". The aim of the study was to find out viewpoints of social workers helping foreigners on the issue of environmental migration in Czech Republic and readiness to accept a larger number of environmental refugees on its territory and ability to provide them protection. In the theoretical part are defined terms of environmental migration, disaster prevention, humanitarian assistance and development as the possibility of coping with phenomenon. The services provided to refugees are also generally mentioned there. Part of the paper is composed by qualitative research which was conducted using half-standardized interviews. The empirical part is focused on the interpretation and analysis of the collected data. In conclusion paper attempts to answer the main research question and summarize the results of research.
