Use of 3D printing technology in the manufacture of jewelry

Abstract:

Následující diplomová práce si klade za cíl podat partikulární náhled na 3D tisk a jeho využití ve šperkářském průmyslu. Nejedná se o komplexní popis dané problematiky, to by bohužel vzhledem k rozsahu práce nebylo možné, nicméně jejími ambicemi je ve zkratce seznámit čtenáře s novými technologiemi v oboru klenotnictví. Je rozdělena do dvou částí, přičemž první polovina práce osvětluje dřívější postupy a materiály, zatímco její druhá část se zaměřuje na moderní způsoby zpracování a při nich využívané výrobní jednotky, stroje a techniku. Ve zkratce by se dalo říci, že první část se zabývá výrobou řemeslnou, zatímco druhá část výrobou průmyslovou.

Abstract:

The following diploma thesis aims to give a particular view of 3D printing and its use in the jewelry industry. This is not a comprehensive description of the issue, but unfortunately it would not be possible due to the extent of the work, however its ambitions are to familiarize the reader with brief information about new technologies in the field of jewelry. It is divided into two parts, the first half of the thesis describe earlier procedures and materials, while the second part focuses on the modern methods of processing and the production units, machines and techniques used in them. In short, one could say that the first part deals with handicraft production, while the second part demonstrate an industrial one.
