Mathematical warm-up excercises and activities at primary school

Abstract:

This thesis is focused on use of mathematical and didactical warm up exercises, activities and didactical games as teaching methods for younger school age of primary school. The theoretical part of the thesis is dedicated to motivation methods and teaching forms. The practical part of the thesis contains compilation of mathematical games and warm up exercises divided according to particular grades and topics. Work sheets of paper for pupils, made by my own, form an integral part of the thesis. The third part of the thesis consists of the miniresearch that has to find out whether the mathematical games and activities are used by teachers during Maths lessons and how pupils can perceive the inclusion of the maths games and activities. Additional explorative probe will check effectiveness of use of didactical games in practice by comparison with solving of the prepared work sheets of paper by the pupils in the experimental class where the pupils use these activities and by the pupils in the checking class.
