Analysis of the benefits and economic value of players for the manager of a football club

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá analýzou přínosu a ekonomické hodnoty hráčů pro manažera fotbalového klubu. Cílem práce je vytvořit matematicko-analytický model zjišťující ekonomickou hodnotu hráče. V práci je řešena problematika definování hodnoty fotbalového hráče. Výsledkem práce je matematicko-analytický model vypočítávající, na základě statistických údajů, hodnotu fotbalových hráčů v anglické Premier League. V předposlední části práce je model hodnocen a jsou zkoumáni hráči u kterých došlo k největším rozdílům mezi cenou vypočítanou modelem a cenou na webu Transfermarkt.com. V poslední části jsou pak zkoumány výsledky hráčů klubu Arsenal F.C.. Na základě těchto výsledků jsou poté managementu klubu poskytnutá doporučení, jak s hráči do budoucna naložit, popřípadě které hráče by měl managmentu zvážit jako své budoucí posily.

Abstract:

Abstract The thesis deals with the analysis of the benefits and economic value of the players for the football club manager. The thesis aims to create a mathematical-analytical model that determines a player's economic value. The thesis deals with the issue of defining the value of a football player. The result of the work is a mathematical-analytical model calculating, based on statistical data, the value of football players in the English Premier League. In the penultimate part of the work, the model is evaluated and the players with the biggest differences between the price calculated by the model and the price on the Transfermarkt.com website are examined. In the last part, the results of the Arsenal F.C. players are examined. Based on these results, the club management is then given recommendations on how to deal with the players in the future, or which players the management should consider as future reinforcements.
