The Impact of Feedback on Employee Motivation and Development

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce studuje vliv zpětné vazby na vnitřní motivaci a rozvoj zaměstnanců. Hlavním cílem bakalářské práce bylo proto nejprve v rámci teoretické části a empirického výzkumu prostudovat důležitost zpětné vazby a jejího potenciálního vlivu na motivaci zaměstnanců při vedení pracovních týmů. Praktická část bakalářské práce se následně zabývá konkrétně výzkumem vlivu zpětné vazby na motivaci zaměstnanců oddělení E-commerce ve společnosti Billa, s r. o., a to pomocí metody kombinovaného výzkumu, kdy nejprve byly provedeny rozhovory se dvěma manažery a posléze byl rozeslán dotazník pro zaměstnance oddělení. Cílem praktické části bylo analyzovat, zda existuje konzistence mezi uvedenými informacemi; určit, jaký vliv a důležitost má zpětná vazba na motivaci zaměstnanců zvoleného oddělení; a jaké aspekty zpětné vazby jsou pro ně nejrelevantnější. Na základě výsledků zpracovaného výzkumu byla poté sepsána praktická doporučení pro efektivní poskytování zpětné vazby.

Abstract:

The following bachelors thesis studies the influence of feedback on intrinsic motivation and employee development. Therefore, the main aim of the thesis was firstly to study the importance of feedback and its potential impact on employee motivation while leading work teams within the theoretical part and empirical research. The practical part of the thesis then investigates the influence of feedback on the motivation of employees in the E-commerce department at Billa, s r.o., using a mixed-method research design, where first two managers were interviewed and then a questionnaire was sent out to the employees of the department. The aim of the practical part was to analyse whether there is consistency between the information provided; to determine the influence and importance of feedback on the motivation of the employees in the chosen department; and state which aspects of feedback are most motivating and relevant to them. Practical recommendations for effective feedback provision were then written based on the results of the research.
