Professional Development of Nonprofit Organizations' Social Workers

Abstract:

Magisterská diplomová práce se zabývá tématem rozvoje profese sociálního pracovníka v jeho každodenní praxi. Cílem práce je zmapovat podobu a vnímání vlastního profesního rozvoje sociálních pracovníků v prostředí neziskových organizací. Teoretická část se věnuje třem hlavním konceptům práce, kterými jsou profesní rozvoj a jeho podoby, profese sociálního pracovníka a specifika pracovního prostředí neziskové organizace. Empirická část popisuje realizované výzkumné šetření, pro které byl zvolen kvalitativní přístup a metoda polostrukturovaného rozhovoru. Respondenty se stalo osm sociálních pracovníků z neziskových organizací v kraji Vysočina. Výsledky výzkumu ukazují, že na respondenty jako sociální pracovníky jsou kladené nároky z více stran struktury neziskové organizace, díky kterým nemohou vždy plnit funkci sociálního pracovníka podle svých představ. Prostředí neziskové organizace je však vstřícné k jejich odbornému vedení a dalšímu vzdělávání podle vnímaných potřeb profesního rozvoje.

Abstract:

This master’s thesis deals with the theme of the development of the social worker’s profession in everyday practice. The aim of the thesis is to map the form and perception of social workers’ own professional development in the environment of non-profit organizations. The theoretical part studies the three major concepts of the thesis: the professional development and its forms, the profession of the social worker and the specific aspects of working environment in non-profit organizations. The empirical part describes the survey conducted, for which I chose qualitative research methods and the method of the semi-structured interview. The respondents were eight social workers of non-profit organizations in the Vysocina region. The results of the survey show that there are demands placed on the interviewed social workers from several parts of the non-profit organization structure, owing to which they are not always able to perform the function of a social worker as they would prefer. The working environment in the non-profit organizations is, however, conducive to their professional mentoring and further education as suitable in view of their particular needs within their professional development.
