Engagement of persons with mental illness in the labor market

Abstract:

S problematikou uplatnitelnosti osob s duševním onemocněním se společnost potýká už dlouho, avšak stále nebyly podniknuty kroky, které by vedly k usnadnění jejich začlenění se do společnosti takovým způsobem, aby nebyli označováni za méněcenné a měli rovná práva na zaměstnání. V tomto směru by bylo vhodné zrealizovat již dlouho plánovanou reformu psychiatrické péče a snažit se o destigmatizaci lidí s duševním onemocněním, což ale souvisí i s obecným nastavením populace naší země. V současnosti u nás funguje spousta organizací, které pomáhají duševně nemocným, mimo jiné také dochází aktuálně k velkému rozvoji sociálních podniků, které vytváří pracovní místa určená pro tyto osoby. V teoretické části jsem vymezila duševní nemoci a postoj společnosti k osobám s tímto onemocněním. Dále se zabývám uplatněním osob s duševním onemocněním na trhu práce a jejich opětovným začleněním do společnosti. V samostatné kapitole se pak dále věnuji formám pomoci a podpoře v podobě zaměstnání v sociálně terapeutických dílnách, sociálních firmách, JOB klubech, přechodném a podporovaném zaměstnání a na chráněném pracovním místě. V praktické části se zabývám problematikou uplatnění duševně nemocných osob na trhu práce. Informace o daném problému budu zjišťovat formou dotazníků, které jsou zaměřené na sociální pracovníky a jejich pohled na zaměstnávání duševně nemocných a samotné zaměstnavatele. Ale také na zaměstnavatele, jejich zkušenosti s těmito osobami a to, zda by byli ochotni se zúčastnit vzdělávacího programu, který by pomohl zvýšit míru uplatnění osob s duševním onemocněním na trh práce.

Abstract:

With the issue of the applicability of persons with mental illness, the society faces a long time, but still have not taken the steps that would lead to facilitate their integration into the society in a way that they would be not regarded as inferior and would have equal rights towards employment. In this context, it would be appropriate to implement already long planned reform of psychiatric care and strive for the destigmatization of people with mental illness, but it is also related to the general setting of the population in our country. At this time, a lot of organizations work to help mentally ill, Among other things, there is currently a great development of social enterprises that create jobs intended for these people. In the theoretical part I defined mental illness and society's attitude towards people with this disease. Furthermore, I deal with the application of people with mental illness to the labour market and their integration back into society. Separate chapter is devoted to the issue of help and supportive forms of employment such as socio-therapeutic workshops, social firms, job clubs, transitional and supported employment and sheltered work area. In the practical part of the thesis I deal with the issue of the application of mentally ill people in the open labour market. Information about the issue I colect by using questionnaires which are focused on social workers and their view on the employment of mentally ill people and the employer. But it also focuses on employers, their experience with such people and whether they would be willing to participate in a training programme that would help to enhance the application of people with mental illness to the labour market.
