Kontroly pohybu zboží, které překračuje hranice jednotlivých států, mají množství rozličných účelů. Pomocí kontrol zboží zajišťují jednotlivé státy kvalitní výběr dávek a daní, kontrolují pohyb nebezpečného, zakázaného, nebo strategického zboží a plní úkoly v oblasti veterinární a hygienické. Controls of goods crossing borders have a wide range of different purposes. Using these controls individual states provide collection of duties and taxes, control the movement of dangerous, forbidden, or strategic goods and perform veterinary and hygienic tasks.
