The effect of an off-ice agility training intervention on performance on selected motor tests in ice hockey players aged 7 to 11 years.

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce je zjistit, zda lze prostřednictvím dvouměsíční tréninkové intervence námi navrženého agility tréninku mimo ledovou plochu ovlivnit výkon ve vybraných motorických testech na ledové ploše i mimo ni. Metodika intervence experimentální skupiny je založena na tréninkovém materiálu z předchozí bakalářské práce. Celý výzkumný soubor tvoří 36 hráčů ledního hokeje v mladším školním věku. Experimentální skupinou je 18 hráčů z týmu HC Draci Bílina, kontrolní skupinu tvoří 18 hráčů z klubu HC Teplice Huskies. Práce je rozdělena na část teoretickou a praktickou. V teoretické části jsou rozebrány kapitoly týkající se tématu naší práce, tedy problematika ledního hokeje, mladšího školního věku, motorických schopností a agility. Do praktické části je zahrnuta metodika, výsledky měření a závěry. Z výsledků měření jsme zjistili, že se experimentální skupina ve výstupním testování významně zlepšila oproti vstupnímu ve 3 ze 4 testů. Zlepšení nastalo v Illinois agility testu mimo led, 5-10-5 pro agility testu na ledě i mimo led. Byl také porovnán rozdíl ve zlepšení výkonu mezi prvním a druhým měřením mezi oběma skupinami. V porovnání s kontrolní skupinou bylo zlepšení experimentální skupiny statisticky významné ve 2 ze 4 případů, konkrétně v Illinois agility testu mimo led a 5-10-5 pro agility testu na ledě. Výsledky výzkumu mohou být přínosem trenérům ledního hokeje a dalších sportů a mohly by být využity a porovnány v dalších pracích.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis is to find out whether performance in selected motor tests on and off the ice surface can be influenced by means of a two-month training intervention designed by us for agility training outside the ice surface. The intervention methodology of the experimental group is based on the training material from the previous bachelor thesis. The entire research group consists of 36 ice hockey players of young school age. The experimental group is 18 players from the club HC Dragons Bílina, the control group consists of 18 players from the club HC Teplice Huskies. The work is divided into theoretical and practical parts. In the theoretical part, the chapters related to the topic of our work are discussed, i.e. the problems of ice hockey, younger school age, motor skills and agility. Methodology, measurement results and conclusions are included in the practical part. From the results of the measurement, we found out that the experimental group significantly improved in the output test compared to the input group in 3 out of 4 tests. There was an improvement in the Illinois agility test off the ice, 5-10-5 for the agility test on and off the ice. The difference in performance improvement between the first and second measurements between the two groups was also compared. Compared to the control group, the improvement of the experimental group was statistically significant in 2 out of 4 cases, specifically in the Illinois agility test off the ice and 5-10-5 for the agility test on the ice. The results of the research can be benefit to coaches of ice hockey and other sports and could be used and compared in other works.
