Drahé kovy jako zajištění portfolia cenných papírů a jejich derivátů

Abstract:

Cílem práce bylo zhodnotit roli drahých kovů v portfoliích investorů, kteří se soustředí na investice do cenných papírů a jejich derivátů. Byly zde použity metody obsahová analýza, citlivostní a kauzální analýza. Pomocí citlivostní analýzy bylo vytvořeny 5 modelových situacích, kterými byla portfolia s různými procentními podíly akciových fondů a drahých kovů. Hlavním zjištěním práce je, že drahé kovy se chovají v portfoliu jinak než akcie, a proto se používají k zajištění. Bylo zjištěno, že drahé kovy plní svou roli v portfoliích cenných papírů a jejich derivátů. Nejčastěji se drahé kovy používají pro diverzifikaci portfolia. V období krize slouží jako uchovatelé hodnoty. Mezi omezení tohoto výzkumu patří výběr akciových fondů a drahých kovů. U jedné z firem nebyla kompletní data. Dalším limitem může být relativně krátké časové období, za které byla vybrána data. Hlavním výstupem práce je investiční strategie. Je zde popsán postup, v jaké chvíli mají investoři prodávat a kdy naopak nakupovat.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis was to evaluate the role of precious metals in the portfolios of investors who focus on investments in securities and their derivatives. The methods of content analysis, sensitivity analysis, and causal analysis were used here. Using the sensitivity analysis, 5 model situations were created, which were portfolios with different percentages of equity funds and precious metals. The main finding of the thesis is that precious metals behave differently in the portfolio than stocks and are therefore used for hedging. It has been established that precious metals fulfill their role in portfolios of securities and their derivatives. Most often, precious metals are used for portfolio diversification. In times of crisis, they serve as stores of value. The limitations of this research include the selection of equity funds and precious metals. For one of the companies, the data was not complete. Another limit may be the relatively short time period for which data was selected. The main output of the thesis is investment strategy. It describes the procedure which determines the moment when investors should sell and the moment when they should buy.
