Support of Families Looking after a Handicapped Child

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá potřebami rodin, které pečují o dítě se zdravotním postižením. Cílem práce bylo zjistit, jakou sociální pomoc tyto rodiny potřebují, a porovnat jejich potřeby s nabídkou sociálních služeb a poskytovanou finanční pomocí státu. Narozením dítěte s handicapem se rodina ocitá ve velmi nelehké situaci, kterou nemůže sama zvládnout, proto potřebuje určitou míru pomoci. Úkolem této práce bylo prozkoumat, jak společnost na její potřeby reaguje, zda jim dostatečně rozumí a nabízí právě takovou pomoc, kterou potřebuje k zachování co nejvyšší kvality života. V teoretické části práce jsou vymezena základní teoretická východiska, včetně základních pojmů problematiky péče o dítě se zdravotním postižením a současně je uveden výčet sociálních služeb v dikci zákona a jejich aktuální reálný výčet v regionu Šluknovsko. Obsahem empirické části je kvalitativní výzkum potřeb deseti rodin ze Šluknovska, které pečují o dítě se zdravotním postižením, na základě kterého mohly být ověřeny stanovené předpoklady a splněn cíl práce.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with needs of families caring for a child with a disablement. The aim of the thesis was to find out what kind of welfare service these families need and to compare their needs with actual offer of welfare service and with financial support provided by the state. With the birth of a handicapped child a family finds itself in a very difficult situation that it cannot solve on its own and therefore it needs a certain extend of help. The task of this thesis was to examine how society responds to the needs of such families, whether it understands them sufficietly and offers just the kind of help the families need to keep the highest possible quality of life. In the theoretical part of the thesis the basic theoretical grounds are defined together with basic concepts of issues of caring for a child with a disablement. Moreover, a list of welfare services according to the law and a current real enumeration of these in Šluknov region is stated. The content of the empirical part is a qualitative research of needs of ten families in Šluknov region which care for a disabled child. On the basis of the research the set preconditions could be verified together with fulfilling the target of the thesis.
