Pragmatic discourse in the organizational culture of the nongovernmental organization Bliss without risk

Abstract:

Pragmatický diskurs v organizační kultuře sdružení Rozkoš bez rizika Tématem práce je kultura organizací poskytující sociální služby ženám v prostituci. Na základě teoretického a empirického šetření autorka odpovídá na výzkumnou otázku jaká je organizační kultura sdružení Rozkoš bez rizika, které je předmětem případové studie v empirické části práce. Organizační kultura je v této práci nahlížena z hlediska převládajícího diskursu, který je tvořen hodnotami, cíli a principy organizace a zejména významy jež jim jednotliví pracovníci přisuzují. Tyto významy mají následně vliv na jejich praktické přístupy ke klientkám. Na základě analýzy empirických dat autorka dospěla k zjištění, že stěžejním hodnotám cílům a principům jsou přisuzovány stejné významy, což společně s upřednostňováním kolektivních organizačních hodnot před osobními tvoří poměrně vysokou kulturní soudržnost organizace. Nejdůležitějším cílům sdružení, jimiž jsou prevence zdravotních rizik a prosazování práv sexuálních pracovnic, jsou pracovnicemi přisuzovány významy jež byly autorkou označeny jako pragmatické, což v praktických přístupech ke klientkám tvoří pragmatický diskurs organizace. Interpretací teoretických a empirických zjištění dochází autorka k závěru, že organizační kultura sdružení Rozkoš bez rizika je soudržná a v přístupech jednotlivých pracovnic převládá pragmatický diskurs.

Abstract:

Pragmatic Discourse in the Organizational Culture of the nongovernmental organization ´Bliss without Risk´ The topic of the thesis is organizational culture of organizations which provide social services for female sex-workers. By employing theories as well as collecting and analyzing empirical data the author is answering the research question ´what is the organization culture of concrete nongovernmental organization ´Bliss without risk´, which is a subject of a case-study in the empirical part of the thesis. By focusing on main aims, values and principles of the organization and their meanings for particular workers the organizational culture is researched from the discursive point of view. On the basis of theoretical and empirical data analysis the author conclude that the crucial aims and values of the organization have the same meanings for all workers, which indicates rather strong cultural cohesion in the organization. The main aims of the organization have for its workers rather pragmatic meaning which has been the reason to call the dominant discourse in the organization as pragmatic.
