Integration of Ukrainian refugee women into the labor market in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá integrací ukrajinských uprchlic na český trh práce. Hlavním cílem této práce je prostřednictvím vlastního výzkumu zjistit, s jakými překážkami, bariérami a emocionálními problémy se potýkají tyto ukrajinské ženy, které prchaly před válkou na Ukrajině na jaře 2022, a to v rámci integrace na český trh práce. V teoretické části práce jsou shrnuty poznatky, které se dotýkají tématu migrace a migrační politiky, integrace a integrační politiky, trhu práce a bariér při vstupu na tento trh. Tyto informace jsou zpracovány metodou literární rešerše a slouží jako podklad pro analytickou část. Poté následuje část metodologická, která představuje výzkumné otázky a samotnou metodologii provedeného výzkumu. Dále jsou uvedeny výsledky vlastního výzkumu, který proběhl s účastí dvou skupin ukrajinských uprchlic. Výzkum je realizován metodou polostrukturovaného rozhovoru a analýza dat proběhla s využitím metody tematické analýzy. Z výsledků výzkumu je patrné, že hlavním problémem pro dotázané ukrajinské uprchlice je jazyková bariéra. Také jejich integraci na český trh práce brání legislativa ČR, která bez uznání a potvrzení dosaženého zahraničního vysokoškolského vzdělání jim neumožní pracovat na kvalifikovaných pozicích. Dalšími zjištěnými bariérami jsou špatná finanční situace, vysoká úroveň sebevědomí, rodina a nekonkurenceschopnost místnímu obyvatelstvu hlavně na primárním trhu práce. V závěrečné části práce je provedená diskuze.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the integration of Ukrainian refugee women into the Czech labor market. The main objective of this work is to find out what obstacles, barriers and emotional problems are faced by these Ukrainian women who fled the war in Ukraine in the spring 2022 within the framework of integration into the Czech labor market through own research. The theoretical part of the thesis summarizes the knowledge that touches on the topic of migration and migration policy, integration and integration policy, the labor market and barriers to entering this market. This information is processed by the method of literary research and serves as a basic for the analytical part. Then follows the methodological part, which presents the research questions and the methodology of the research itself. After that, the thesis presents the results of its own research, which took place with the participants of two groups of Ukrainian refugee women. The research is carries out by the method of semi-structured interview, data analysis is carried out using the method of thematic analysis. The results of the research shows that the main problem for the interviewed Ukrainian refugee women is the language barrier. Their integration into the Czech labor market is also hindered by the legislation of the Czech Republic, which will not allow them to work in qualified positions without the recognition and confirmation of a foreign university education. Other identified barriers are a poor financial situation, a high level of self-confidence, family and the lack of competitiveness of the local population, especially on the primary labor market. A discussion is carried out in the final part of the thesis.
