Drugs in Armed Forces - drug use and undesirable drugs impact on soldiers

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá pronikáním drog do armády a jejich zneužíváním ve vojenském prostředí. Obsah je zaměřen na drogovou historii v období hlavních válečných konfliktů, a to 1. a 2. světové války, války ve Vietnamu, ruské invaze v Afghánistánu a současného nasazení koaličních sil v Afghánistánu. Je nastíněn i drogový problém u dětských vojáků, nežádoucí dopady válečných konfliktů na jejich účastníky či užívání drog při začleňování se zpět do civilního života. Zároveň se práce zaměřuje na vývoj drogové scény v předlistopadovém Československu, pronikání drog do Československé lidové armády a současnou drogovou situaci v profesionální Armádě České republiky. Praktická část se zabývá výzkumným šetřením, zrealizovaným formou dotazníku, které se věnuje názorům aktivních příslušníků Armády České republiky na užívání drog ve vojenském prostředí. Výsledky dotazníkového šetření včetně odpovědí na výzkumné otázky jsou doplněny o grafy. V závěru je provedeno shrnutí a stručná rekapitulace výsledků.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the penetration and abuse of drugs in the military environment. The content focuses on the history of drugs during the main war conflicts, namely World War I and World War II, the Vietnam War, the Russian invasion of Afghanistan, and the current deployment of coalition forces in Afghanistan. It also outlines the drug problem among child soldiers, adverse effects of war conflicts on their participants or drug use in their integration back into civilian life. At the same time, the bachelor thesis describes the development of the drug scene in pre-November Czechoslovakia, the penetration of drugs into the Czechoslovak People's Army and the current drug situation in the professional Army of the Czech Republic. The practical part deals with a survey research, carried out in the form of a questionnaire, which presents the views of active members of the Army of the Czech Republic on drug use in the military environment. The results of the questionnaire survey, including answers to research questions, are supplemented by graphs. The conclusion comprises a summary and a brief recapitulation of the results.
