Abstract:

AbstraktCílem této práce je osvětlit vztah mezi inflací a nezaměstnaností v Ghaně. Míra inflace a nezaměstnanosti jsou dva významné ukazatele v ekonomice a jsou považovány za klíčové ukazatele zaostávajícího vývoje ve všech zemích, včetně Ghany. Otázka, zda je možné dosáhnout dvou makroekonomických cílů, nízké inflace a nízké nezaměstnanosti současně, zůstává žhavým tématem debat mezi ekonomy, odtud také vznikla Phillipsova křivka. Výsledkem jsou početné debaty mezi badateli, k ustanovení vztahu mezi těmito dvěma ukazateli. Takto se tedy objevil koncept Phillipsovy křivky.Inflace a nezaměstnanost jsou nedílnou součástí tržního hospodářství, se socioekonomickými důsledky pro populaci daných zemí. Pro většinu práceschopných obyvatel je rostoucí nezaměstnanost katastrofou. Nezaměstnanost často přináší hrozné následky, jako snížení příjmu a kupní síly, které zase vedou k neschopnosti zvýšit životní standard. Co se týče inflace, kterou mnozí Ghaňané nazývají „nepřítel společnosti“, způsobuje zvyšování cen zboží a služeb. Pro mnoho rozvojových zemí je toto katastrofou. Účelem této práce je ukázat souvislost mezi inflací a nezaměstnaností, zda je toto spojení významné a které proměnné ji mohou definovat. Pokusíme se to zjistit analýzou názorů různých ekonomů, týkajících se Phillipsovy křivky, sestavením krátkodobé a dlouhodobé Phillipsovy křivky a vyvozením závěrů. Speciální pozornost budeme věnovat studiím Philipsovy křivky provedeným ekonomy minulého století.Cílem této práce je prozkoumat vztah mezi mírou nezaměstnanosti a inflací v Ghaně v letech 2018–2019 a sestavit Philipsovu křivku statickou i rozšířenou o očekávání. Pro model rozšířený o očekávání, očekávaná inflace byla zaznamenána dvěma metodami: adaptivní očekávání a model geometric lag Práce také osahuje detekci přirozené míry nezaměstnanosti, krátkodobého dodávkového šoku a cyklické nezaměstnanosti v Ghaně. Abstract:

ABSTRACT The aim of this thesis is to shed further light on the relation between inflation and unemployment in Ghana. Inflation rate and unemployment rate are two of the major indicators in economy and they are seen to be major determinants of underdevelopment in any country including Ghana. The question of whether it is possible to achieve the two main macroeconomic goals, low inflation and low unemployment in an economy at the same time, has remained a hot debate among economists; hence the emergence of the Philips Curve. As a result, there are numerous discussions among researchers to establish the connection between the two indicators. In this regard, the concept of Philips curve emerged.Inflation and unemployment are integral part of a market economy, with socioeconomic consequences for the population of the countries in which these processes occur. For most of the able-bodied population growing unemployment normally means catastrophe. Unemployment often brings terrible consequences, such as declining incomes and purchasing power, which in turn leads to an inability to raise their living standards. As for inflation, which many of Ghanaians used to call "the enemy of society ", its field of activity is increasing pricing of goods and services. For many emerging economies this phenomenon has the character of a disaster. The purpose of this thesis is to show the connection between inflation and unemployment, if this connection is significant, and which variables can define it. We will try to figure it out by analyzing different opinions of economists concerning the Philips curve, by constructing short-term and long-term Philips curves by making some conclusions about the results at the end. We pay special attention in our research to the study of Phillips curve made by some economists of the last century.The goal of this thesis is to examine relationship between unemployment rate and inflation in the Ghana during years 2018-2019 and to construct static and expectations augmented Phillips curve. For expectations augmented model, expected inflation was detected by using two methods – adaptive expectations and the geometric lag model. Thesis also contains detection of natural rate of unemployment, short-term supply shocks and cyclical unemployment in Ghana. For analysis annual data from the Bank of Ghana Statistical office was used.
