Testing of manipulative functions of the hand from the perspective of an occupational therapist

Abstract:

Předkládaná bakalářská práce se zabývá využitím standardizovaných testovacích nástrojů hodnotících manipulační funkce ruky v ergoterapeutické praxi. Teoretická část pojednává o zásadních funkcích ruky a problematice standardizovaného testování s uvedením konkrétních testů ruky. Tato část dále obsahuje stručný anatomický a kineziologický popis ruky a její úchopové funkce, jež je předpokladem manipulace. Praktická část zahrnuje vyhodnocení a interpretaci výsledků dotazníkového šetření, které se zaměřuje na problematiku standardizovaného testování ruky. Získané výsledky poukazují na využívanost standardizovaných testů ruky společně s jejich přínosy, nicméně také na širokou škálu bariér tohoto testování, mezi které patří především vysoká pořizovací cena testovacích sad. Výsledky dotazníku poskytují důležité informace do navazující diskuze pro naplnění hlavního cíle práce, zodpovězení stanovených výzkumných otázek, a také pro porovnání se zahraničními studiemi, ale i předchozími výzkumy z České republiky.

Abstract:

The presented bachelor's thesis deals with the use of standardized test tools evalua-ting the manipulative functions of the hand in occupational therapy practice. The theore-tical part deals with the fundamental functions of the hand and the issue of standardized testing with specific hand tests. This part also contains a brief anatomical and kinesiologi-cal description of the hand and its grip function, which is a prerequisite for manipulation. The practical part includes the evaluation and interpretation of the results of a questionnaire survey that relate to the issue of standardized hand testing. The obtained results point to the utilization of standardized hand tests together with their benefits, however, they also draw attention to a wide range of testing barriers, which primarily inc-ludes the high purchase price of test kits. The results of the questionnaire provide impor-tant information for the follow-up discussion in order to fulfill the main goal of the work, which is the answer to the set research questions, as well as for comparison with foreign studies and previous research conducted in the Czech Republic.
