Prevention of the depression relapse from the non-profit organizations point of view

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá prevencí relapsu depresivního onemocnění z pohledu klientů neziskových organizací. Práce se zaměřuje nejen na pozitivní vlivy organizace na zachování stabilizovaného zdravotního stavu, ale rovněž na svépomocné aktivity klientů a vliv sociální sítě. Cílem této práce je identifikovat pozitivní zdroje pro udržení stabilizovaného zdravotního stavu, tak jak je vnímají klienti. V teoretické části jsou vymezeny pojmy, které se vztahují k hlavní výzkumné otázce: deprese, klient s depresí, neziskové organizace, prevence, zdroje udržení remise. Ve výzkumné části je popsána kvalitativní výzkumná strategie. Data byla získána pomocí techniky polostrukturovaného rozhovoru. Rozhovory byly realizovány ve dvou organizacích poskytujících služby lidem s těžkým duševním onemocněním. V závěrečné části práce je na základě analýzy rozhovorů zodpovězena hlavní výzkumná otázka. Z realizovaných rozhovorů vyplývá, že hlavním zdrojem pro prevenci relapsu deprese jsou pro klienty sociální kontakty a aktivity, které utvářejí strukturu dne. Na základě těchto zjištění jsou navržena doporučení pro praktické využití.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the relapse prevention of a depression disease from NGO client´s point of view. The thesis is focused not only on positive influences of the organization with the aim to maintain the stabilized state of health, but also on self-help activities of clients and the influence of social network. The aim of this thesis is to identify positive sources to maintain stabilized state of health as they are perceived by the clients. The theoretical part contains terms that apply to the main research question: depression, depressive client, non - profit organizations, prevention, sources of the remission maintenance. The research part contains description of a quality research strategy. Data were obtained using semi-structured interview technique. Interviews were held in two organizations providing services to people suffering from severe mental illness. Upon the analysis of discussions, the main research question is in the closing part. From the conducted interviews follows that the main source for prevention of the depression relapse are social contacts and acitivities for clients that form the structure of the day. Based on these findings, recommendations are suggested for practical use.
