Czechoslovak-Soviet Relations in 1945-1948

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá vzájemnými vztahy mezi Československou třetí republikou a Sovětským svazem. Práce je zasazena do časového rozmezí od dubna 1945, kdy byla ustanovena první československá poválečná vláda, až po komunistický puč v únoru 1948. Nejprve je zachycen historický kontext vztahů mezi oběma aktéry. Hlavní část práce se poté soustřeďuje na popis československo-sovětských vztahů ve vymezeném období v politické, ekonomické a diplomatické rovině, a to jak na bilaterální úrovni, tak v multilaterálním kontextu. A konečně v poslední části je proveden rozbor charakteru těchto vztahů a současně s tím je zodpovězeno, nakolik výrazné byly zásahy Moskvy do zahraniční politiky Československé třetí republiky, a zda se jim českoslovenští politici a diplomaté pokoušeli nějakým způsobem čelit.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis deals with the relations between the Czechoslovak Third Republic and the Soviet Union. It is set in the period from April 1945, when the first Czechoslovak post-war government was established, to the communist coup in February 1948. At first it is observed the historical context of relations between the two actors. The main part is then focused on describing the Czechoslovak-Soviet relations during the period in the political, economic and diplomatic level, both bilaterally and in the multilateral context. And finally in the last part is performed the analysis of the character of these relations and at the same time there is answered, how significant were interventions of Moscow to the foreign policy of the Czechoslovak Third Republic, and whether Czechoslovak politicians and diplomats tried to somehow face it.
