Financial analysis of non-profit organization

Abstract:

Bakalářské práce je zaměřena na finanční analýzu neziskové organizace. Práce je vyhodnocena za pomoci vybraných ekonomických ukazatelů, které jsou pro neziskové organizace typické. Práce se zabývá neziskovým sektorem, u kterého je vysvětlena definice neziskového sektoru, formy neziskových organizací a příčiny vzniku a význam neziskových organizací. Organizace je zkoumána finanční analýzou, jejímž prostřednictvím je dosaženo k jednotlivým výsledkům a cílům práce. Jsou použity především metody analýzy poměrových ukazatelů – autarkie, rentability, likvidity a dalších ukazatelů charakteristických pro neziskový sektor. Celá práce je rozdělena na dvě části, teoretickou a aplikační. Teoretická část zachycuje podstatu celé práce, význam a smysl neziskových organizací. V praktické části je charakterizována příspěvková organizace - Technické služby města Klatov. Jsou analyzovány finanční výkazy organizace v období 2005 – 2008, za pomoci finančních ukazatelů charakteristických pro neziskové organizace. Celá práce je v závěru vyhodnocena, kde jsou navržena určitá doporučení na vylepšení organizace.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis focuses on financial analysis of a non-profit organization. The work is structured with the help of economic indicators which are specific for non-profit organizations. The work deals with the non-profit sector, including its definition, different kinds of non-profit organizations, their causes of genesis and also the relevance of non-profit organizations. The organization is examined through the financial analysis, which leads to specific results and reaches the aim of the work. Applied methods include mainly the index indicator analysis – autarchy, profitability, liquidity and other indicators. The bachelor thesis is divided into two parts – the theoretical part and the application part. The theoretical part covers the core of the thesis, the relevance and function of non-profit organizations. The application part characterises an allowance organization – Technical services of Klatovy. Financial statements of the organisation for the period from 2005 to 2008 are analysed with the help of financial indicators typical for non-profit organizations. The complete thesis is evaluated at the end of the work, where there are also suggested recommendations how to improve the organization.
