The Midlife Crisis

Abstract:

Téma krize středního věku je u nás téma trochu opomíjené. Moc se o tomto období nehovo-ří, jako by ani neexistovalo. Společnost nastavila zelenou mládí, výkonosti, zdatnosti, flexi-bilitě a nechce si připustit existenci stáří a konečnosti života. Ve společnosti se objevuje až odpor ke stáří, tzv. ageismus. Ve středním věku si člověk začíná uvědomovat stárnutí, cítí ho na svém těle a začíná i vidět konečnost života. To, že se o krizi středního věku nemluví, neznamená, že se vytratila ze života. Je tady a člověk s ní musí bojovat a vyhrát. Jinak se propadá do zoufalství a depresí. Každý člověk je originál a každý s krizí bojuje jinak. Nejlépe jde krize zvládnout se život-ním optimismem, smyslem pro humor a nadhledem. To, co vyřešit nejde, neřešit. Čas vše nakonec vyřeší za nás. Důležité je ke krizi zajmout vždy nějaký postoj, hýbat se kupředu. Nezůstat stát na místě. Každá životní krize jde zvládnout v pohodě, když člověk chce a umí se radovat ze života.

Abstract:

The topic of midlife crisis is often neglected. People avoid talking about this stage of life like it didn't even exist. The society prefers the youth, productivity, competence and flexi-bility and does not want to admit the existence of the old age and the limited lifetime. There even appears to be disgust at aging, so-called Ageism. Middle-aged people are be-coming aware of the aging process, they feel it on their bodies and they start to see the fi-niteness of one's life. The fact that the midlife crisis is not spoken about does not mean it has disappeared from our lives. It is there and everybody needs to fight and win over it. Otherwise frustration and depression may follow. Every person is unique and has his own ways of dealing with the crisis. The best thing one can do is to deal with it with optimism, a sense of humor and try to stay on top of things. Do not try to solve things you cannot change. Time will eventually do it for you. The important thing is to take a stand on the crisis and move forward. Do not linger in one place. Every life crisis can be managed if you have the will and can find the joy in your life.
