Using Nexus framework for scaling agile methodology Scrum

Abstract:

Diplomová práce s názvem "Využití rámce Nexus pro škálování agilní metodiky Scrum" se zabývá rámcem Nexus, který vznikl v roce 2015 za účelem škálovat metodiku Scrum bez porušení agilních principů. Cílem práce bylo popsat rámec Nexus pro škálování agilní metodiky Scrum, porovnat rámec s ostatními rámci pro škálování, a z kvalitativního výzkumu formou rozhovoru pomocí návodu vyvodit závěry výhod a nevýhod tohoto rámce. Cíl byl dosažen vytvořením rozsáhlého teoretického popisu rámce Nexus v českém jazyce, srovnáním rámce Nexus se dvěma nejpoužívanějšími přístupy ke škálování agilních metodik, provedením kvalitativního výzkumu formou rozhovoru s návodem a následným definováním předností a nedostatků rámce Nexus. Práce by měla být přínosná těm, kteří mají zájem o vzdělání se ohledně rámce Nexus v českém jazyce, získat náhled do zavádění a fungování rámce Nexus v praxi v českém prostředí a informovat se o přednostech a nedostatcích rámce Nexus. Čtenářům by měla diplomová práce napomoci při případném rozhodování, zda-li rámec Nexus je vhodný k zavedení do prostředí, ve kterém například pracují.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis with a name "Using of the Nexus framework to scale Scrum agile methodology" examines Nexus framework, which originated in year 2015 in order to scale Scrum methodology without breaking agile principles. Aim of this thesis was to describe the Nexus framework, compare the framework to other scaling methods, and make conclusions via quantitative research about the advantages and disadvantages of Nexus framework. The goal of the thesis had been reached by creating extensive theoretical description of the Nexus framework in Czech, by comparing the two most used scaling methods to Nexus framework and by conducting quantitative research through an interview followed by defining strengths and weaknesses of the Nexus framework. This thesis should be beneficial to those who are interested in learning about the Nexus framework, gaining insights into how implementation and conducting of the Nexus framework has worked in real Czech working environment, and in informing themselves about the strengths and weaknesses of the framework. In case of making a decision whether to implement Nexus framework, the readers receive hints, whether the framework is suitable for their environment or not.
