The role of the perioperative nurse during the preparation of the operating theatre

Abstract:

Všeobecná sestra v perioperační péči musí mít určité charakterové vlastnosti a musí být ve svém oboru profesionálem. Teoretická část je zaměřena na problematiku perioperační péče. Konkrétně na vzdělávání perioperačních sester a jejich kompetencí, informacích o operačnímu traktu a organizaci práce na operačním sále. Ve výzkumné části je pomocí polostrukturovaných rozhovorů sledován zájem perioperačních sester o vzdělávání a způsoby jejího dosažení. Dále jsou perioperační sestry dotazovány na jejich roli při dodržování bezpečnosti v perioperační péči a jaký mají pohled na svou profesi. Bylo by přínos-né, kdyby povědomí o roli perioperační sestry nezůstávalo za dveřmi operačních sálů. Hlavním výstupem práce je vytvořit přednášku pro všeobecné sestry/zájemkyně o práci na operačním sále, která je seznámí s náročnou, odbornou a krásnou profesí perioperačních sester.

Abstract:

A general nurse in perioperative care must have certain traits and be professional in her/his field. The theoretical part is focused on perioperative care, especially on the education of perioperative nurses and their competencies, operating tract and organization of work in the operating room. The research part monitors, through semi-structured interviews, the interest of perioperative nurses in education and ways of achieving that. Furthermore, perioperative nurses are asked about their role in the security compliance of perioperative care and what their opinion is of their profession. It would be helpful if the awareness of the role of peri-operative nurses is not left at the door of operating theatres. The main outcome of this work is to create a lecture for nurses and make them familiar with how sophisticated, professional and beautiful a profession perioperative nurses have.
