Computer as a source of senior's informal learning

Abstract:

Tématem magisterské diplomové práce je počítač jako zdroj informálního učení u seniorů. Práce má teoreticko-empirický charakter a obsahuje kvantitativně orientované výzkumné šetření. Jejím cílem je prozkoumat obsah a intenzitu práce seniorů na počítači, zjistit souvislost tohoto typu informálního učení s vybranými osobnostními charakteristikami zkoumaných respondentů, dále ověřit souvislost se subjektivní životní spokojeností v rámci konceptu well-being a rovněž zjistit, zda je informální učení seniorů pomocí počítače ovlivněno jejich otevřeností vůči zkušenosti. Teoretická část je zaměřena na vymezení základních pojmů a na shrnutí dosavadních poznatků a souvislostí vztahujících se k tématu. V empirické části je popsán metodologický postup a interpretace výsledků na základě analýzy sesbíraných dat u výzkumného vzorku seniorů – studentů Univerzity třetího věku.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the topic of a computer as a source of senior’s informal learning. The thesis is theoretical-empirical and contains a quantitatively oriented research. It aims to map out the content and intensity of senior’s work with computer, to find out the connection of this type of informal learning with selected personality characteristics of the respondents, to verify the connection with subjective satisfaction with life within the well-being concept, and finally to find out the effect of senior’s openness to experience on their informal learning by computer. The theoretical part focuses on definitions of basic concepts and on summary of existing knowledge and context related to the topic of this thesis. The empirical part describes the methodological procedure and the interpretation of the results based on the data collected by research sample of seniors - students of the University of the Third Age.
