Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na muzeum jako na odbornou a vzdělávací instituci, jejíž činnosti lze využít ve vzdělávání středních škol. práce je rozdělena do tří nosných částí. První část je věnována funkcím muzea, obecnému rozdělení muzeí, mapování vybraných regionálních muzeí, problematice sbírek a možnostem propojení muzea a školy.
