Competetive bank analysis concerning the selected product

Abstract:

The Diploma Thesis entitled „Competitive bank analysis concerning the selected product“ analyses the offers of competitive banks on the market in the Slovak Republic. Our attention was aimed at a product – current account with making use of the package of products and services, which are offered by chosen banks institutions – Slovenská sporiteľňa, a.s. (Slovak Savings Bank, Inc.); Tatra banka, a.s. (Tatra Bank, Inc.); Československá obchodná banka, a.s. (Czechoslovak Commercial Bank, Inc.) on the given market. For the analysis we used all available information about the product, which can be acquired by a potential client, and also information acquired from the clients of the chosen institutions in the form of a questionnaire. In an analysis of the competitive banks were used mathematical and statistical methods. As the compared indices were chosen the nets of bank branches and their ATMs (Automated teller machines), annual costs of working of a current account from the client’s viewpoint, and a debit interest rate, and the significance of individual indices were determined on the basis of results acquired from the clients of the banks. In the final part of the Diploma Thesis are given the recommendations for the banks, which could help them to improve the product, and also some recommendations for the clients, helping them to decide which bank from the analyzed ones best suits their requirements, needs and expectations.

Abstract:

Diplomová práca s názvom „Konkurenčná analýza bánk vo vybranom produkte“ analyzuje ponuky konkurenčných bánk na trhu v Slovenskej republike. Pozornosť sme upriamili na produkt – bežný účet s využitím balíka produktov a služieb, ktoré ponúkajú vybrané bankové inštitúcie – Slovenská sporiteľňa, a.s., Tatra banka, a.s., Československá obchodná banka, a.s. na danom trhu. Pre analýzu sme využili jednak všetky dostupné informácie o produkte, ktoré potenciálny klient môže získať, ale aj informácie získané priamo od klientov vybraných inštitúcií formou dotazníka. Pri analýze konkurenčných bánk boli použité matematicko-štatistické metódy. Ako porovnávané ukazovatele boli vybrané sieť pobočiek a bankomatov bánk, ročné náklady na vedenie bežného účtu z pohľadu klienta a debetná úroková miera, pričom váhy jednotlivých ukazovateľov sme stanovili na základe výsledkov získaných od klientov bánk. Vo finálnej časti diplomovej práce sú vyslovené odporúčania jednak pre banky, prostredníctvom ktorých by mohli banky produkt skvalitniť, ale aj odporúčania pre klienta, ktorá z analyzovaných bánk najlepšie vyhovuje jeho požiadavkám, potrebám a očakávaniam.
