Relation between Colour and prefered Team Role

Abstract:

The study deals with the topic of colour preference and team role preference according to M.R.Belbin conception. The goal of the study was to describe and confirm the relationship between colour preference and preference of exact behavioral pattern - team role. Colour, at exact background, is percieved as good and expeditious source of information. Due to the context in conjunction with personal processing, experiences and connotations, which are connected with exact colour, they may serve as a good instrument to communicate an information with others. Theoretical part of the study provides wider theoretical frame and bases for research realised in this study. The term team role and M.Rbelbin´s concept is described and it also focuse on colour preference, it´s connotation and purpose. Empirical part includes methodology of quantitative investigation, where 69 respondents were involved. The ratio of preference of exact colour and exact team role was examined. Based on data analysis, it was found that a relationship exists between the colour yellow and team roles Plant, Co-operator nad Team Worker, than between blue colour and roles Implementer and Specialist, green colour and Team Worker, red colour and roles Shaper and Team Worker. Due to this we can support the thesis that the relationship between colour preference and preference of team role exists.

Abstract:

Práca sa zaoberá preferenciou farieb a preferenciou určitej tímovej role podľa koncepcie M.R.Belbina. Cieľom práce je popísať a overiť vzťah medzi preferenciou farby a preferenciou určitého vzorca chovania - tímovej role. Farbu v určitom prostredí vnímame ako dobrý a najmä rýchly zdroj informácií. Práve na základe kontextu v spojitosti so subjektívnym spracovaním, skúsenosťou a významami, ktoré sú jej v danom kultúrne-historickom prostredí pripisované, dokáže byť farba dobrým prostriedkom pre zdieľanie a prezentovanie určitej informácie širšiemu okoliu. Teoretická časť práce poskytuje širší kontext a východiská pre realizovaný výskum. Popisuje pojem tímových rolí a bližšie koncept tímových rolí M.R.Belbina. Ďalej sa zameriava na preferenciu farieb, jej význam a účel. Vo výskumnej časti je popísaný postup a metódy výskumu, ktorého sa zúčastnilo 69 respondentov. Skúmaná bola miera preferencie určitej farby a konkrétnej tímovej role. Analýzou získaných dát bolo zistené, že existuje vzťah medzi preferenciou žltej farby a preferenciou tímových rolí Inovátor, Kooperátor a Tímový pracovník, medzi preferenciou modrej a rolami Realizátor a Špecialista, zelenej a rolou Tímový pracovník, červenej a rolami Formovač a Tímový pracovník. Je teda možné podporiť tvrdenie, že existuje vzťah medzi preferenciou konkrétnej farby a preferenciou tímovej role.
