Third party motor liability insurance in Czech Republic and Great Britain

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá produktem a konstrukcí pojištění odpovědnosti za škodu z provozu vozidla, s akcentem na osobní automobily. Vymezuje konkrétní provedení produktu v České republice a Velké Británii, od historického vývoje a zkušenosti po současné poskytovatele a úskalí. V teoretické části se věnuje převážně definici produktu jako takového, poté porovnání české a britské konstrukce v koncepční rovině. V části praktické pak přistupujeme k modelování základních nabídek a identifikování trendů i úskalí současné realizace produktu povinného ručení v obou kontextech, a to nejen u vývoje, který byl zaznamenán vlivem pandemie COVID-19, ale i obecně se vyostřujícími se ekonomickými podmínkami spotřebitelů v posledních několika letech.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis is analysing the product and construction of third-party motor liability insurance, with the emphasis on personal motor vehicles. It outlines the specific implementation of the product in Czech Republic and Great Britain, from historical development and experience to current providers and pitfalls. In the theoretical part, it is mainly devoted to the definition of the product as such, then a comparison of the Czech and British construction on a conceptual level. In the practical part, we proceed to modelling the basic offers and identifying the trends and pitfalls of the current implementation of the third-party motor liability insurance in both contexts, not only in the development that was recorded due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, but also in general with the worsening economic conditions of consumers in the last few years.
