Diagnostic Excesses Using Ionizing Radiation and Design of Risk Reduction Measures

Abstract:

Diagnostická vyšetření s použitím ionizujícího záření jsou běžnou součástí při komplexních vyšetřeních a léčbě pacientů. V současné době se však dostatečně nebere zřetel na počet těchto vyšetření a lékaři nejsou ani dostatečně upozorňováni na množství vyšetření s pomocí ionizujícího záření. Diplomová práce se zabývá hodnocením rizik spojených s kumulací dávek při diagnostických vyšetřeních, jenž je možné využít v klinické praxi, kde by bylo vhodné tyto vyšetření evidovat. Dávky se sčítají tudíž vzniká riziko, že dávky přesáhnou hranici možné dávky na orgány a je poté na zvážení, zda použít metodu s ionizujícím zářením či zvolit metodu, která nezatíží organismus člověka. Výsledkem práce je návrh opatření, jak předcházet a evidovat vyšetření kumulace dávek a popřípadě jaké jiné postupy zvolit.

Abstract:

Diagnostic examinations using ionizing radiation are a common part of complex examinations and treatment of patients. At present, however, the number of these examinations is not sufficiently taken into account, and doctors are not sufficiently warned about the number of examinations with the help of ionizing radiation. The diploma thesis deals with the assessment of risks associated with the accumulation of doses during diagnostic examinations, which can be used in clinical practice, where it would be appropriate to record these examinations. The doses are added together, so there is a risk that the doses exceed the limit of the possible dose to the organs and it is then up to consideration whether to use a method with ionizing radiation or choose a method that does not burden the human body.The result of the work is a proposal of measures to prevent and record the examination of cumulation doses and, if necessary, what other procedures to choose.
