Ideal high school teacher from the perspective of students

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce bylo najít odpověď na otázku, jak vidí ideálního učitele žáci střední školy.Dílčím cílem pak bylo zjistit, jestli se pohled žáků na jednotlivých zkoumaných školách liší.Teoretická část se snaží vymezit osobnost učitele a seznamuje se specifiky této profese. Zabývá se také profesní přípravou, učitelskými kompetencemi a současným pohledem na učitelskou profesi. Seznamuje s typologií učitele a jejím významem pro učitelskou praxi, autoritou učitele, jež je významným předpokladem pedagogického úspěchu a způsoby komunikace mezi učitelem a žákem.Poslední kapitola teoretické části se snaží na základě již provedených výzkumů charakterizovat ideálního učitele. Empirickou část práce tvoří výzkum, který se snaží zjistit, jak vnímají učitele žáci tří různých středních škol. Cílem výzkumu je zjistit, zda ideální učitel existuje, jak by podle středoškoláků měl vypadat a jaké by měl mít vlastnosti. Závěr je věnován celkovému shrnutí práce s ohledem na výsledky výzkumu a jejich využití v praxi.

Abstract:

The goal of the thesis is to answer the question about an ideal teacher as seen by pupils of secondary school. Another aim is to find out if the view of the ideal teacher deffers at each of presented schools. The theoretical part focuses on the teacher personality and specifies teacher profession. It also deals with a professional teacher preparation, teacher competences and current views on this profession. It introduces a typology of teachers and points out its importance for teacher practice. It talks about teacher authority as a very important condition for teacher success and ways of teacher-pupils communication. The last chapter of the theoretical part tries, based on some results of researches, make characteristics of an ideal teacher. The empirical part comprises a survey trying to find out how the teachers are viewed at three different secondary schools. The aim of the survey is to prove if the ideal teacher exists and uncover his or her appearance and characteristics. The conclusion of the thesis summarises results of the survey and considers how to make an advantage of them in practice.
