Milevsko Monastery and its importance for the development of the region

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá významem premonstrátského kláštera v Milevsku pro rozvoj regionu, definuje jeho rozvojový potenciál a možnosti jeho dalšího rozvoje v oblasti kulturní, hospodářské a cestovního ruchu. Teoretická část práce vychází z rešerší odborné literatury, výročních zpráv a z podkladů pro čerpání dotací na obnovu památek a hospodářskou činnost. Definuje pojmy z oblasti památkové péče a popisuje historický vývoj kláštera. Pro zpracování praktické části práce bylo použito metody řízených rozhovorů s památkáři, hospodářskými pracovníky kláštera a pracovníky, kteří mají na starost klášterní expozice a návštěvnický provoz. Další zvolenou metodou je návštěvnický dotazník, který autor vypracoval, a pomocí něhož zjišťoval, jak se návštěvníci o památce dozvěděli, jak byli spokojeni se službami a co naopak postrádali. Práce se zaměřuje na využití potenciálu kláštera pro rozvoj regionu a navrhuje doporučení, která by mohla přispět k jeho dalšímu rozvoji – k jeho hospodářské soběstačnosti, rozšíření služeb, zvýšení zaměstnanosti v regionu, zvýšení návštěvnosti i k lepší spolupráci s městem. Zároveň historii a aktivity tohoto kláštera srovnává s premonstrátským klášterem Schlägl v Rakousku, který má na klášter v Milevsku historicky silnou vazbu, porovnává jejich činnosti a navrhuje, čím by se klášter v Milevsku mohl ve Schläglu inspirovat.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the significance of the Premonstratensian monastery in Milevsko for the development of the region, defines its development potential and the possibilities of its further development in the cultural, economic and tourism sectors. The theoretical part of the thesis is based on literature searches, annual reports on the basis of subsidies for the restoration of monuments and economic activities. It defines the concepts in the field of heritage conservation and describes the historical development of the monastery. For the practical part of the thesis, the method of guided interviews with conservationists, economic staff of the monastery and staff in charge of monastery exhibitions and visitor traffic was used. Another chosen method is the visitor questionnaire developed by the author, which was used to find out how visitors learned about the monument, how satisfied they were with the services and what they lacked. The thesis focuses on the use of the potential of the monastery for the development of the region and proposes recommendations that could contribute to its further development – its economic self-sufficiency, increased employment in the region, increased visitor numbers and better cooperation with the city. It also compares the history and activities of this monastery with the Premonstratensian monastery of Schlägl in Austria, which has a strong historical link with the monastery in Milevsko, compares their activities and suggests what the monastery in Milevsko could draw inspiration from Schlägl.
