Comparison of road and rail freight transport in the Czech Republic in terms of charging

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je srovnání silniční a železniční nákladní dopravy v České republice. V první části jsou přiblíženy oba druhy nákladní dopravy. Je popsána jejich infrastruktura, míra využití v průběhu let a představení nejobjemnějších dopravních proudů v České republice. Následuje shrnutí výhod a nevýhod. Představena je proto i kombinovaná doprava a její postavení v České republice. Další část práce je již věnována samotnému zpoplatnění. Jsou popsány a rozebrány podmínky zpoplatnění infrastruktury, výše sazeb i systém plateb za použití infrastruktury pro silniční i železniční dopravu. V praktické části byla zvolena stejná výchozí a koncová místa, po kterých bylo převezeno shodné množství nákladu. Tyto trasy jsou detailně porovnány z hlediska zpoplatnění a jejich výhodnosti.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to compare road and rail freight transport in the Czech Republic. In the first part both types of freight transport are presented. It describes their infrastructure, the level of use over the years and presents the most voluminous transport flows in the Czech Republic. This is followed by a summary of advantages and disadvantages. Combined transport and its position in the Czech Republic is therefore also presented. In the next part of the thesis, I focus on charging itself. The conditions of charging, the rates and the system of payments for the use of infrastructure for road and rail transport are described and analysed. In the practical part, the same starting and ending points have been chosen, on which the same amount of freight has been transported. These routes are compared in detail in terms of charging and their cost-effectiveness.
