The Transformation of Children's Identities in the Light of Children's Television Heroes

Abstract:

The Master thesis of The Transformation of Children's Identities in the Light of Children's Television Heroes maps opinions of informants on the issue of identification with the identity of the children's heroes from television series. In the theoretical part it defines the key terms and explains the theoretical basis for research conducted with middle school children. It characterises the identity and clarifies the theory of learning that children use in the socialization process even without realizing it. It refers to the fact that each individual and society can create its own reality. However, these realities always come to mutual conflicts, resulting in an exchange of the information. Subsequently, these information are responsible for the formation of new or altered reality. The television reality may intervene to the reality of each individual by such method. The practical part is devoted to qualitative research that processes and clarifies the data obtained by the informants using interpretive phenomenological analysis. The data are divided into organised categories and they are described in order to bring an integrated view of informants on the issue of identification with the identity of heroes of the children's television series.

Diplomová práca Premeny identít detí na pozadí detských televíznych seriálov, mapuje názory informantov v problematike stotožňovania sa s identitou hrdinov detských televíznych seriálov. V teoretickej časti definuje kľúčové pojmy a objasňuje teoretické východiská pre výskumné šetrenie uskutočnené s deťmi stredného školského veku. Charakterizuje identitu a objasňuje teórie učenia, ktoré deti využívajú v procese socializácie bez toho aby si to vôbec uvedomovali. Poukazuje na fakt, že každý jedinec a spoločnosť si svoju realitu vytvára sám. Tieto reality však prichádzajú neustále do vzájomných stretov, čím dochádza k odovzdávaniu si informácií. Následne sa tieto informácie podpíšu na vzniku novej alebo obmenenej reality. Takýmito spôsobom môže televízna realita zasahovať do reality každého jedinca. Praktická časť sa venuje kvalitatívnemu výskumu, ktorý pomocou interpretatívnej fenomenologicej analýzy spracúva a objasňuje dáta získané od informantov. Tie sú členené do prehľadných kategórií a popísané tak, aby priniesli ucelený pohľad na názory informantov v problematike stotožňovania sa s identitou hrdinov detských televíznych seriálov.
