Subjectively perceived difficulty in the scales of pain in the elderly

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na hodnocení intenzity bolesti u seniorů pomocí sebehodnotících škál bolesti. Cílem je zjistit, zda jsou tři vybrané škály úměrné, jaká je preference těchto škál z pohledu seniorů a jaká je jejich subjektivně vnímaná obtížnost. V teoretické části práce je popsána problematika stáří, bolesti a jejího hodnocení. Průzkumná část práce se zabývá hodnocením bolesti u seniorů. V průzkumu byla použita Revidovaná Iowská stupnice bolesti (IPS-R), Revidovaná obličejová škála (FPS-R) a Numerická škála bolesti (NRS). Z šetření vyplynul vzájemný vztah těchto škál a nejpreferovanější škálou byla zatím v ČR méně známá škála IPS-R.

Abstract:

This thesis deals is focused on the evaluation of pain intensity in seniors using self-assessment pain scales. The aim is to find out whether the three selected scales are proportional, what is the preference of these scales from the point of view of seniors and what is their subjectively perceived difficulty. The theoretical part of this work describes the issue of old age, pain and its evaluation. The exploratory part of the work deals with the evaluation of pain in seniors. In the survey were used the revised Iowa Pain Scale (IPS-R), Revised Facial Scale (FPS-R and Numerical Pain Scale (NRS). The survey revealed the relationship between these scales, and the most preferred scale was the IPS-R scale, which is less known in the Czech republic.
