Annotated translation of the instructions for use: guitar amplifier

Abstract:

This diploma thesis focuses on the translation of a technical language on the example of a manual of a guitar amplifier. The theoretical part focuses on the general linguistic introduction of specialized language and technical language. General problems in its translation with a focus on manuals are presented, as well as requirements for the translation of technical texts. These theoretical aspects are used in the practical part, in which the chosen translation strategy and work with other translated manuals of similar guitar amplifiers are presented. The objectives of the translation are set there, and an initial analysis of the source text is made, followed by the main part, i.e. commented translations. The thesis aims to approach the process of translation of a technical text and to create a quality, unambiguous and adequate translation based on the knowledge from the theoretical part. Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zaměřuje na překlad technického jazyka na příkladu manuálu kytarového zesilovače. Teoretická část se zaměřuje na všeobecné lingvistické představení jazyka odborného a odborného jazyka z oblasti techniky. Jsou představeny obecné problémy při jeho překladu se zaměřením na manuály, a také nároky při překladu technických textů. Tyto teoretické aspekty jsou použity v praktické části, ve které je představena zvolená překladatelská strategie a práce s dalšími přeloženými manuály podobných kytarových zesilovačů. Jsou stanoveny cíle překladu a je provedena úvodní analýza výchozího textu, po které následuje hlavní část, tedy komentovaný překlady. Práce si klade za cíl na základě poznatků z teoretické části přiblížit proces překladu technického textu a vytvořit kvalitní, jednoznačný a adekvátní překlad.
