Creating opportunities for the development of reading literacy at primary school teaching through the methods of critical thinking

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá rozvojem čtenářské gramotnosti u žáků čtvrtých a pátých ročníků základní školy prostřednictvím využití metod kritického myšlení a hledáním příležitostí daného rozvoje ve vyučovacích předmětech napříč kurikulem. V teoretické části práce je vymezen pojem čtenářská gramotnost. Uvedena jsou jak jeho teoretická východiska, postavení ve školním kurikulu, tak i možnosti jeho rozvoje ve výuce na 1. stupni. Nedílnou součástí teorie je přiblížení podstaty pojmu kritické myšlení. Specifikován je rovněž třífázový model výuky a z něj vycházející program Čtením a psaním ke kritickému myšlení. Cílem praktické části diplomové práce je vytvoření osmi modelových lekcí, které skrze metody kritického myšlení usilují o aplikaci čtení v rámci různých oblastí školního kurikula a o systematický rozvoj čtenářské gramotnosti. Lekce jsou opatřeny podrobným popisem dějového scénáře a reflexí realizace v praxi.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the development of reading literacy in fourth and fifth grade of primary school students through the use of critical thinking methods and finding opportunities for its development across the curriculum. The theoretical part of the thesis defines the concept of reading literacy, including its theoretical foundations, position in the school curriculum, and possibilities for its development in primary education. Part of the theory is an explanation of the essence of the term critical thinking. Additionally, the three-phase learning model and the program Reading and Writing for Critical Thinking based on it are specified. The aim of the practical part of the diploma thesis is to create eight model lessons that use critical thinking methods to apply reading skills in various areas of the primary education curriculum and systematically develop reading literacy. The lessons are accompanied by a detailed description of the plot and reflections on their implementation in practice.
